What did I learn too late in my life?

Excerpts from my personal experiences in life : sabse bada rog kya kahenge log ” To stop analyzing what others are thinking about you and do what you want to do ! Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not.  Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you  ( from GOT) To earn  skills  not just  grades . That  Investing on yourself  is the best investment and keep on learning, updating and upgrading yourself. That  Time is money  and perhaps the only thing in the world which cannot be replenished. Don’t waste it by discussing others. To have  gratitude  for everything you have. Love someone ?  Then convey your feelings directly to the person. Learn to say “ No .” That you are unique so  never compare  yourself with anyone “ This shall too pass ”. That  nothing is permanent  neither your sorrow nor your joy. Life is simple so enjoy each and every moment.  Don’t be dead serious about it. That there is no substitute for  hard work . That we are the

What is wrong with India?

We all are debating and busy in deciding that whether the “ Death of Democracy ” has happened in Karnataka (where BJP formed the government at first without getting the complete majority or in  Bengal Panchayat Polls (where  Mass False Voting occurred  ). BUT What we all forget to notice from all this drama  is that the  Courts can be forced to open midnight  and  cases can be solved in just one day  with the major irony that it happens only when these cases are linked to political parties for deciding the power between them. Both the political parties : hired lawyers, traveled to New Delhi, arranged documents, proofs etc All within a single day and forced the Supreme court to hear the case midnight at 1.45 a.m.  While the other less important cases like scams or corruption or absconding of Vijay Mallya, Neerav modi or rape cases, etc  continue to run for years in these courts and in the end they say “ Nothing happened ” as what happened in 2G scam case.

Preparation for the IIT interview after GATE

My interview lasted for 20-25 mins. It included a panel of 8-10 profs from each subject .They will ask : About yourself Your favourite 3-4 subjects. So prepare those subjects by concentrating on basic definitions ,concepts, equations. Also, study basic mathematics equations. I was also asked to draw few basic graphs (likes stress/strain curve for mechanical ) and few mathematics equations(solving a PDD ,Heat transfer ,etc) on black board. Some details about your B.tech project. May be few questions from your previous job as was in my case (like why you left, what you were doing there) and most imp just keep calm.If you don't know any answer, simply tell them but don't try to give incorrect explanation

Uses of a GATE score?

Initially GATE score was used only to get  PG seats in engineering with MHRD fellowship  in various colleges like IISC/IITs/NITs/other state govt and private colleges. But now since last 4–5 years , almost  every PSU and many other companies  are also using GATE score to shortlist students for interview. Before this, each PSU used to take it's own written test or go to various prestigious colleges for placements. But after Supreme court judgement, entire recruitment process of PSU's is done on the basis of GATE score followed by GD/PI. GATE score can also be used to get  post graduation/PhD seats in various international universities  like NUS which is currently ranked as the 6th best university worldwide.

Job opportunities for the M.S. programme

MS is research oriented unlike M.tech which is course-work oriented. Number of courses you do in MS are less than in M tech and hence you get more time to carry out research. MS is just like mini PhD. You get the overall feeling of doing a PhD. After MS you can easily go for higher studies in India or abroad. There are high chances of publishing good research papers in MS since you are getting more time for this which can help you in securing admission for PhD in top universities of the world. As far as job is concerned there are few companies in India which recruit MS or Mtech students except few CSIR labs, ISRO, etc.

Ramadan Ceasefire order in J&K by Center

Within few hours of Center's order for the ceasefire in J&K , Pakistan has retaliated again by heavy firing along the border in Jammu district killing one soldier and two civilians. Terrorists have also started their activities in Shopian district of Kashmir and terror outfits like  LeT rejected Centre's call  saying Home Ministry's statement ' nothing but drama . Ceasefire is always welcomed as it can be considered an important step towards restoring peace and harmony but ceasefire is of no meaning unless it is agreed upon by both sides. Indian government should take lessons from the previous instances of unilateral ceasefire.  It is just like tying the hands of your soldiers and asking them to first wait for the bullet to cross them and then only you can fire.  Very surprising! Above all the demand for the ceasefire by our honorable CM Mehbooba Mufti Ji is highly questionable. By asking the center for ceasefire in J&K, she is indirectly pointing out that
